Description:

Kelham Hall is Grade I listed; domed chapel built 1927-28. See also NCCE002767, NTGM019915 and NTGM019916.

The life size Rood - Christ on the cross, with figures of Mary and John - was completed by Charles Sargeant Jagger in 1928. In 1973, the figures were taken to the Willen Priory in Milton Keynes. In 2002 the figures were removed and restored, and a new site for the Rood is now being considered.
