Description: Showing the drapers shop on South Parade, with the twin gables of the Flying Horse Hotel, built in 1483 on Poultry, next door. The large building to the right of the shop is the National Provincial (later the National Westminster) bank. In the bottom left of the photograph, the corner of the Council House in the Market Place can be seen. This photograph was taken in 1944 and shows a man in military uniform outside the bank, and a sign for an air raid shelter pointing down the side of Farmer's Store.
