Description: This view was taken looking south east from the fourth floor of Archer GPO Telephone Exchange, Brook Street. The buildings to the left of the trees, and up to the large chimney is the Salvation Army Eventide Home complex, the house incorporated in it being Notintone Place, the birthplace of General Booth, founder of the Salvation Army. Left and to the rear of the chimney is Windmill Lane and the houses of Roberts Street going towards Green's Mill. Behind the tree in the left foreground is the south gable of St Aidans Church with the south gable of Senior Citizens Council flats to the left of that.
