Description: The Nottingham Canal 100yds south of Newtons Lane. Two types of barges which have lain here since the early 1930's. The larger one was a coal-carrying 'Butty' barge, and bears, what's left, the number 1509 or 1589, near the bow. The smaller one appears to be one used by the maintenance staff of the canal company, in their surveillance of the banks and installations.
