Rear entrance to the property. The Oaks was a large house next door to The Elms on Broadgate on the Nottingham side of Peveril Road. The land attached to the House stretched from Broadgate through to Kenilworth Road. This view is looking from the house towards Broadgate and at the rear of the house were more formal gardens and a large wooden building housing a full size snooker table.The land nearest Kenilworth Road was a field used originally for growing vegetables but in the the land was barren and the owner (Mrs Starling) allowed the local children to use it as a playground. .The land was eventually sold to the Nottm University and was, and still, is used for Student accomodation (information supplied by local resident, Derek Cox)
