Description: From South Parade on the Market Square, looking up the narrow entrance to Friar Lane next to The Old Moot Hall Wine Vaults. This building would be soon replaced with a 'Mock Tudor' style building (see NTGM001829) which, itself would later be knocked down to widen Friar Lane. (The name Moot Hall derives from the old Anglo-saxon word for private court, 'Halimote' and was a private court of the Lord of the manor.) See aslo NTGM001831 for another view of the building
