Description: The Walter Fountain. Lister Gate on the left, Clayson is on Carrington Street. A 'Picture the Past' web-site viewer has informed us that the women standing around at the bottom left of the picture were 'Ladies of the night' who would beckon to passing men, selling their 'wares'.
