Description: The Moot Hall Wine Vaults in the Market Place. The original Moot Hall, which stood on a site on the south-east of Weekday Cross, disappeared when the course of the L and NE Railway was altered in c 1900. A Moot Hall was an early type of manorial court, halimote or hall moote, under the juristiction of the Lord of the Manor.
