Looking south along the Nottingham Canal, showing the leather works on the right. Edward and John Turney founded the Tannery on the River Trent in 1861. Turney Brothers Limited produced 'Trent Bridge' willow calf which became famous as one of the first UK full chrome calf leathers produced in many colours for the ladies shoe trade. The Nottingham Canal flows out into the River Trent by the factory.
