Looking north along the Nottingham Canal, showing the Meadow Lane Bridge in the centre. Edward and John Turney founded the Tannery on the River Trent in 1861. Turney Brothers Limited produced 'Trent Bridge' willow calf which became famous as one of the first UK full chrome calf leathers produced in many colours for the ladies shoe trade. The Nottingham Canal runs into the River Trent near to the factory.
