Description: This picture was taken at the official opening of the Time Fountain. The Time Fountain is a silver-white coloured four faced clock on top of a moving sculpture. It consists of a large (copper?) flower, whose petals open on striking. It contains a variety of animals eg squirrels, peacocks and fish, playing musical instruments, that turn when the clock strikes, plus highly jewelled little flowers and floral leaf stems. Three arms are extended out, one flying fish, one squirrel and pram and a peacock rowing, as well as lots of little birds. The clock strikes every quarter hour. Rowland Emett, its creator, is quoted as saying, 'it is an aquahorological tintinnabulator.' (The Times 28/2/73)
