About this image
This view was taken from the new road that linked Fletcher Gate and Weekday Cross with Canal Street, Broad Marsh. In the foreground is the old railway bridge which ran over the western end of Cliff Road and which has since been re-built to provide access for part of the new tram system. Behind it is High Pavement Chapel, standing on High Pavement east of Weekday Cross (which has now been converted for use as a bar).
