Description: Lawrence Collin was Master Gunner to Nottingham Castle during the Civil War. He was born in 1613, died in 1704 and is buried at St Nicholas Church. In the picture, the room to the left of the archway was reputedly used by Cromwell on his visit to Nottingham after the demolition of Nottingham Castle in 1651. The house was demolished to make way for Maid Marian Way.
