Description: Showing Trent Bridge and the River Trent. Centre bottom is Turney's Leather Works and The Town Arms Hotel. London Road forks off to the top right. The Nottingham Canal runs alongside London Road, then curves behind Turney's factory to join the River Trent. Arkwright Street runs through the Meadows to the top of the picture. This picture reveals the gridwork of Victorian terraced houses in the Meadows long before the wholesale demolition of the area and its subsequent redevelopment during the 1970's. The curve of Wilford Crescent can be made out at the top left of the picture. On the right is the white roof of one of the stands at Notts County Football Club.
