Description: Showing Trent Bridge and the River Trent. Centre and top is Turney's Leather Works and The Town Arms Hotel. London Road forks off to the top centre. The Nottingham Canal runs alongside London Road, then curves behind Turney's factory to join the River Trent. Arkwright Street runs through the Meadows to the top left of the picture. This picture reveals the gridwork of Victorian terraced houses in the Meadows long before the wholesale demolition of the area and its subsequent redevelopment during the 1970's. The building to the right of Trent Bridge is the Pavilion Cinema (named after the Industrial Exhibition pavilion which stood on this site in 1903-4, see NCCS001089).
