Description: This is a view of the interior of the chapel, showing the children's corner. Queen's Medical Centre, University Hospital, affectionately known as Queen's to the people of Nottingham, welcomed its first patient in August 1978. The first purpose-built teaching hospital in the UK, it brings together patient care, teaching and research under one roof. Queen's replaced five hospitals - the General, the Women's, the Children's, the Eye and Harlow Wood Orthopaedic Hospital. Together they have a history of healthcare in the Nottingham area of more than 200 years. (information from www.qmc.nhs.uk)
