Description: The Nottingham Canal ran parallel to the left of the river at this point. See NTGM006955. The picture also shows part of the gates and lodge to Wollaton Hall on the left. These were built in 1804 to a design by Jeffrey Wyatt (also called Jeffrey Wyatville), in a style which would compliment the Elizabeth architecture of Wollaton Hall.
