Description: David Herbert Lawrence was born on 11th September 1885 at 8a, Victoria Street. Now the D H Lawrence Birthplace Museum. The house has now been renovated in the style of a turn of the century house. Prior to his birth, his mother kept a small shop in the front room, hence the display window.
