Description: Looking east from an RCTS special train, passing Sneinton Junction and signal box. The train is leaving (eastwards) what was called the 'goods avoiding line' which took freight trains south of the Midland Station through what was the Eastcroft carriage sidings and is now the diesel maintenance depot and further west the station car park. RCTS stands for 'The Railway Correspondence and Travel Society'. Founded in 1928, it is one of the largest British societies for railway enthusiasts, primarily catering for those interested in the fine detail of day-to-day operations. It publishes the monthly Railway Observer and very detailed and well-regarded locomotive histories. It is affectionately known as 'The Royal Corps of Train Spotters')
