Description: (Copy of a Lithograph by Brown and Whiting) Following the popular success of the Crystal Palace Great Exhibition of 1851, exhibition fever struck the country with many smaller scale exhibitions taking place. This new building was erected on the site of the old Horse Market, 'Horse Fair Close'. Nottingham Central Fire and Police Station were later built on the same site. See also NTGM006301 for an interior picture of this event and NCCS000534 for the later Industrial Exhibition pavilion on Trent Bridge.
