Description: The Old Moot Hall Wine Vaults (left). This building would be soon replaced with a 'Mock Tudor' style building which, itself would later be knocked down to widen Friar Lane. The name Moot Hall derives from the old Anglo-saxon word for private court, 'Halimote' and was the private court of the Lord of the manor. This view was taken from South Parade, at the junction of Wheeler Gate, looking up Friar Lane.
