Description: This building is currently owned by the Congregational Federation. A Congregational church once again meets here. The building was purchased in the 1970's from the United Reformed Church and a floor added at gallery level enabling offices and cafe use on the ground floor with a large meeting room and church upstairs. The Sunday school building next door, now known as Cleaves Hall was redeveloped in the 1980's to provide accommodation. It now has conference facilities and office space as well. The offices of the Congregational Federation and a bookshop are now in 8, Castle Gate. The new organ pictured opened in April 1909. In 1971 the Congregational and English Presbyterian Churches joined to form the United Reformed Church.
