Description: The Wesleyans bought two small cottages which, after alteration, were opened for worship in 1841. The work continued until the Reform agitation caused it to be abandoned. In 1856 the chapel was sold to the Baptists who remained until they removed to Sherbrooke Road in 1883. Then the building was used by the Congregationalists until they built a chapel on Hucknall Road in 1899. From then until 1923 the building had several occupiers when it was acquired by the City Mission and renamed 'Bethany Hall'. The chapel was demolished in 1960 during the redevelopment of the Carrington Market Place area, but the name of Wesley Street has been retained.
