Description: Oil portrait of Camille d'Hostun, Duc de Tallard, Marshall of France, 1703-28. Born 1652 and died in 1728. The background is the Battle of Landau. Tallard was taken prisoner at the battle of Hochstedt (Blenheim) and was taken to Nottingham, whence he only returned to France in 1711. He married Marie Catherine Grolee in 1677, and their son and successor to the Duchy was Marie Joseph d'Hostun (Duc d'Hostun). He married Marie Isabelle de Rohan, daughter of Hercule Prince of Surbise.
