Description:
Looking west from Factory Lane, this was a (split) terrace of nine houses and was originally called West Row. The narrow cobbled roadway, vintage gas lamp, the surprising number of television aerials, and the generally rundown appearance of the locality are all worthy of mention.
There were a number of small groupings of houses like Alton Cottages in this part of Bulwell but all were cleared away in the 1960s, the entire area being completely redeveloped with different street plan. Today, the location seen here would be unrecognisable, being in the middle of a recreation ground lying between Hoewood Road and Camberley Road.
