Description: Photograph taken from the 'Nottingham Arrow'. Shows Tom Trevethick photographed by Nottingham Canal, next to his boatyard in Lenton. The Trevethick family business began in 1903 by Thomas Trevethick, who moved to the boatyard in Lenton from Gainsborough. Tom Trevethick began working for his father at the age of 13 (c 1914). The family ran pleasure boats on the River Trent, and also hired out rowing boats and canoes also along the Trent.
