Description:

The clearance areas around Sussex Street and Broad Marsh remained undeveloped until 1971 when work commenced on building Middle Hill and the Broad Marsh Centre. The signal box was on the former LNER line, crossed Canal Street, the canal, Station Street and London Road on bridges to Arkwright Street Station.
