Description: This building was built in the 1930s as the General Post Office Sorting Department, on the cleared site of the district known as Meadow Platts. The northern end occupies the land formerly used by narrow streets such as Meynell, Bromley and Fyne Streets. It has now been increased in height, converted into a hotel and given the name Marco Island.
