Description: Showing the busy market place, with various shops in the background. Most notable is an early Boots Chemist store. Jesse Boot took over his father's 'British and American Botanic Establishment' in and opened his first Boots store in 1881 on Goose Gate in Nottingham. After this time the chain flourished and is now a common site on our high streets.
