Description:
Former forge to the stables on the eastside of the western perimeter road, looking northeast.
This is still used today for certain metalwork jobs, though not for the shoeing of horses. The south wing of the stables is served is seen in the left background. In the right background are store-sheds fronting onto the western perimeter road, and the top of the chimney to the new incinterators. The sand is moulding sand used in the forge.
