Description:
The prison covered about ten thousand square yards of land, and was formerly occupied as a hospital, dedicated to St. John the Baptist. By the time the map of 1899 was published, the building was already in disuse as a prison. It was located at the east corner of Glasshouse Street and King Edward Street, where Oceana night club now (as of 2008) is.
