(A) Picture the Past website contributor Jim Jeffery adds: 'In 1915 Viscount Chetwynd set about building No 6 Shell Filling Factory adjacent to Orchard Cottage, Chilwell. Albert Hall was engaged as his chief engineer to drive the factory forward and Chetwynd moved Albert and his family into the cottage. The house was damaged in the Chilwell explosion of 1 July 1918 and Albert's son Geoffrey was badly injured. The cottage survived and in July 2012 was fitted with a blue plaque in commemoration of the explosion.'
