Description:

Mrs. Alice Taylor at the memorial and mass grave of the explosion at the National Shell Filling Factory, Chilwell on 1st July 1918.

The explosion was the the worst disaster with explosives that this country has ever seen; 134 people were killed, hundreds were injured and most bodies were never found or identified.
