Description: The number of the locomotive on the left is 61361. The ex-L.N.E.R. 'B1' class locomotive on the left is running 'engine and brake' (i.e. only hauling a brake van). The following is based on the appearance of the engines' (i.e. the possible options) at the date of the photograph, and the location: The engine peeping from the back of the brake van is a British Railways Standard Class '9F', a very powerful freight locomotive. Until around the date of this image quite a few of the class had been based nearby at Annesley. The engine on the right of the photograph is either a 'Black 5' or '8F'. Both of these were ex-L.M.S. classes.
