Description:
Looking east with a Co-operative supermarket on the right and Wilford Lane itself just out of shot to the left. The latter comes into view in the distance beyond its junction with St Ervan Road (right) and is bridged by the ex-Great Central Railway main line linking Nottingham with Leicester and London Marylebone.
The GC route closed to passengers south of Nottingham in 1969 and freight traffic ceased in 1974. Its alignment was re-used through Wilford in 2015 for the extension of the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) system to Clifton, although by then the bridge had long been demolished, the new tram route being laid at ground level with the original railway embankment to either side of Wilford Lane removed.
