Description:
Looking east into Lincolnshire. In the background is the village of Newton-on-Trent; left is tollhouse and the toll-keeper's cabin is on the right with the farmhouse behind it. Although it looks as though the two buildings are attached, they aren't, the camera angle provides that allusion. (Reg Baker).
Bridge has since been re-built and widened and is still a toll bridge with a fee of 30p pence car, which is an interestingly small inflation rate compared to the 10p per car in 1977!
