Description:
Seen here from south-west. Nearest camera is the original house erected at the time the bridge was built. It is now completely bricked-up and serves no purpose at all. One bricked-up window serves for the toll-charges panel. The section with the door and windows was added at a later date. Today, this seems to provide cooking and toilet facilities for the toll-keepers, although in its day it served as a residence. This is on the east end of the bridge, north side (Reg Baker).
Bridge has since been re-built and widened and is still a toll bridge with a fee of 30p pence car, which is an interestingly small inflation rate compared to the 10p per car in 1977!
