Description:
This was the Primitive Methodist (Ranters) chapel built in 1818. They moved in 1882 to new premises in Temperance Lane since when the hall has been used in 1900 as the Salvation Army Hall and since then as offices, betting shop, sauna parlour, then pubs, The Laughing Cavalier and The Oliver Cromwell and is now the Horse and Plough.
