Description:
On the East side of Main Street, near its junction with Cropwell Road, seen here from the North West. Once a coaching station, as shown by the stables in the background. The coach-houses are hidden from view by the shelter used for outdoor drinking. Note the date below the chimney on the left tall gable (1757), and the AA village disc attached to the gable of the single-storey building. The single-storey buldings seen in the right background were barrack-rooms once occupied by Canadian Force Personnel, who during World War Two operated from the adjacent Langar Aerodrome. On the skyline right, are the Harby hills. The black notice-board contains Parish Council notices, and beside it is Barton's Bus timetables.
