Description:
School was built in 1840 by W E Elliott. It was in use as a Notts County Council School to July 1974. After the Summer Holiday, new schools having been opened at Keyworth (2 miles South) and Tollerston (1 mile North) the pupils were transferred there. The school stands on the South-East corner of Normanton and Keyworth Lanes, and the photograph is taken from outside the Griffin Inn at the junction of Bradmore and Keyworth Lanes. The bit of signpost indicates Plumtree Station 0.5 miles, Keyworth 1.75 miles. The school closed in 1974 as a County Council establishment and later opened as an independent school.
