Description:
Looking north from the sports field. The grammar school was founded in c 1531 by diplomat and cleric Thomas Magnus and was originally located in Appletongate. The more modern buildings seen here were erected on a new site off Earp Avenue in 1909.
From 2014 the school was styled as the Magnus Church of England Academy, by which date this view would not have been repeatable, a new block of buildings having been constructed in the foreground.
