Nottingham’s prestigious Goose Fair is one of the most famous in the country. Dating from at least 1284 it takes place every year in the first week of October. Since 1928 it has taken place at the Forest Recreation Ground, before then it was held in Nottingham’s Market Square. Originally a trade fair, including the selling of geese, it has evolved over time and now features fairground rides, sideshows, candyfloss and mushy peas – and lots of atmosphere.
You can experience this iconic fair through history with some great photos taken over the past hundred years. If you find a picture you like you can buy it as a framed print, canvas or personalise a gift with the image.
