This is the oldest part of Nottingham, St Mary's Church on High Pavement was mentioned in the Doomsday Book and is thought to date back to Saxon times. The Lace Market was once Nottingham's Industrial centre, it's red brick factories and warehouse put Nottingham onto the fashion map.
